Summer camp 2020 cancelled

CLOVIS, CALIF.,—March 24, 2020, The Central California Conference of

Seventh-day Adventists (CCC) is canceling the following ministries for the 2020

summer season: Wawona Summer Camp, Teen Bible Academy, and Youth

Rush. This action was made with much consideration for the health and safety of

our children, young people, and members of various communities as we face the

challenges of the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.Through the years, God has abundantly blessed the summer ministries of CCC.

During the past ninety years, children campers and young adult staff members

have come each summer to CCC’s accredited Christian camp in Yosemite National Park. For fifteen years, CCC has also been providing a special three-week summer ministry where teens and staff members participate in spiritual growth, team and leadership building, and community service. And over the past twenty-seven years, the annual summer literature ministry program has expanded to where it now trains, mentors and leads students through door-to-door efforts leaving biblical literature to over 300,000 homes.

Despite the disappointment of not having these summer ministries for 2020, we continue to explore and implement creative and effective opportunities to advance discipleship and evangelism throughout Central California. We look forward to next summer when Wawona Summer Camp, Teen Bible Academy, and Youth Rush will resume and be a mighty blessing to so many young people.

Thank you for your prayers and support as we move closer to the soon return of

our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
