Camp
Wawona provides transportation from three different locations;
Campbell, Casa de Fruta and Fresno !
NEWS: The Fresno area pickup site
has been at the
commuter parking lot located on the intersection of Hwy 41 and
Hwy 145; however, do to the construction that it's currently
taking place in that location, we will be picking campers 2
miles further north on 41 hwy. On the Valero gas station
parking lot.
Transportation:
Transportation will be provided
starting Sunday
June 29 and
continuing each Sunday through the end of the summer camp
season. Transportation is not offered the first week of camp,
which is Adventure Camp, due to very small bus rider numbers.
Most parents enjoy bringing up their younger campers personally
for their first camping adventure! However, if your Adventure
age camper does need transportation and is comfortable riding
on the bus, the Jr. Adventurers camp will offer transportation.
As you know gas prices are
continuing to increase however we are making an effort offer an affordable
price for transportation please keep in mind that these prices
are subject to change if we experience another jump in gas
prices.
- Round trip from Campbell
or Casa De Fruta will be $75.
- One-Way fees from Campbell
or Casa De Fruta are $55.
- From Fresno, the round
trip fee is $45.
- One Way from Fresno is
$35.
Bus/Van Registration
You must call in advance to arrange for your campers transportation.
Phone: (559) 347-3174 to reserve space for your camper.
Note: For safety reasons, absolutely NO Campers
may board the bus without a reservation and completed application
and health forms. (Please obtain forms in advance. )

You will complete final registration
and make payment for transportation of your camper to the
driver at time of pick-up. You may also pay online via
your e-account.
What Is Required of
You It is imperative that anyone riding the bus arrive by the
specified time of departure so that we can meet our scheduled
appointments with other families and campers on the route.
NOTE: The bus is chartered and is not able to wait for campers
that are not on time.
Please remember that all
forms must accompany your camper before they board the bus.
* Payment in full of any
outstanding balances for camp and transportation costs is
due at time of boarding.
* Cash or check accepted. Please have exact amount as driver
will not be able to make change. Thank you so very much for
helping us on this matter.
Camper Check In
You are responsible for the supervision of your child until
he/she boards the bus for Camp Wawona. When you have completed
the registration process you will be given an identity band
or ticket as a positive ID to identify you as the parent or
guardian of your child to Camp Wawona Staff . Be sure to keep
this identity ticket or band. You will be asked to produce
this ticket when you pick up your child when they return from
camp.
Pick up
When you pick up your child please honor the Camp Staff by
showing positive ID (ticket) that you are the child’s
parent or parent designee. If you loose your child’s
ID ticket:
- You will be asked to produce a valid photo ID in order to
verify your name and address
- Staff will check registration records to determine if you
are the parent with custodial rights
- Staff may record the make, model and license plate number
of the vehicle you are driving.
Trip Activities
Those registered for the Campbell bus will spend approximately
five hours in transit from Campbell to Camp Wawona. The bus
will make one stop at Casa de Fruta to pick up additional
campers, and one stop in Fresno. The trip from the Fresno
area to camp is approximately one-and-a-half hours. Trip activities
may include the viewing of a "G" rated movie, time
for reading, naps, camp songs, and games.
There is no food
or beverage service on the bus, so please send appropriate
snacks and water for your child.
Transportation Delays
Unfortunately, delays occur which are beyond our control.
Camp Wawona will communicate delays in transportation service
to the contact numbers listed on your child’s application.
If you are not going to have access to that number on the
day that your child is in transport please call us at (209)
375-6330 ahead of time and let us know how to contact you.
We maintain cell phone contact with the drivers and can notify
you if there is a delay.

fruit stand as you exit from 152.
Fresno: The Fresno area pickup site
has been at the 4-Corners
commuter parking lot located on the intersection of Hwy 41 and
Hwy 145; however, do to the construction that it's currently
taking place in that location we will be picking campers 2 miles

Early Departure
In the event that your child can not continue with the trip
(i.e. illness, injury, or disciplinary problems) you will
be contacted by the Camp Director, Bus Team Captain or Camp
Medical Staff to be informed of the situation. Depending on
the situation, you may be asked to make arrangements to pick
up your child in route to/from Camp Wawona. (No reimbursements
will be made) .
